Member School Program / Essential Digital Literacy (EDL)
Angaza Center’s Member School Program helps rural African high schools build sustainable digital-learning environments through device access, teacher training, and our Essential Digital Literacy curriculum. By equipping schools with technology, empowering educators, and integrating digital learning into the weekly school experience, we help students gain the foundational skills they need to thrive in school, work, and life.
peer-to-peer (p2p) programs
Angaza Center’s Peer-to-Peer Program connects students and young adults across continents through live digital-literacy learning. Through this model, student volunteers from U.S. partner schools and university student volunteers in Africa help teach learners in Member Schools using Angaza Center’s curriculum; creating an experience that builds digital skills, youth leadership, cultural exchange, and shared human connection.
applied digital literacy(adl)
Angaza Center’s Applied Digital Literacy Program extends beyond foundational digital skills to help learners build practical, future-ready capabilities across high-demand technology fields. The same curriculum also powers IADL, our Institute of Applied Digital Literacy, where ADL is delivered from our training center rather than at a partner school; giving learners access to both short, focused skill sprints and deeper career-track pathways.
ConnectED School Grid
ConnectED School Grid is Angaza Center’s rural-ready digital platform designed to strengthen how schools operate while supporting the growth of digital learning. Built as a modular, offline-first system for low- bandwidth environments, it helps schools move from fragile paper-based processes to more reliable, connected, and data-informed operations.
Commitment to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
Angaza Center’s projects align closely with several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), showcasing our commitment to creating meaningful impact in rural African communities.
- SDG 4: Quality and equitable tech access and digital literacy — Eliminating digital literacy disparities for rural African youth.
- SDG 5: Pathways to economic independence for rural African young girls thru tech access and education.
- SDG 8: Opening the global economy thru digital literacy — tangible economic empowerment for rural African youth and their communities.
- SDG 10: Technology as a catalyst for economic participation and social inclusion — direct investment in digital literacy of rural African youth.
- SDG 13: Second life to donated out-of-commission computers. Sensitizing a generation of climate-consciousness youth.
